The Bryan County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications for a Full Time Athletic Assistant in our Parks and Recreation Department located at Timber Trail/Henderson.
This position is to assist with running athletic programs, scheduling, and supervising the use of Bryan County’s recreation facilities by community members and agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Opens and/or closes park facilities including gym, fields, restrooms, access to lights, electrical outlets, etc.
Oversee activities and operations occurring at all county recreation facilities, ensuring proper use of facilities and equipment.
Inspect and prepares facilities and recreational equipment for use during activities; secures facilities and recreational equipment after activities are completed.
Check recreation facilities for damage or needed improvements and makes recommendations accordingly.
Maintains operational hours for the facilities; enforces all facility rules during operational hours.
Has a workable understanding of the reservation/registration software program and administers all functions of software program in its operation in order to provide service to parks and recreation patrons.
Prepare and complete required reports, forms and other documentation including facility rental availability and fees.
Assist patrons in registering for sports leagues in person and over the phone. Answer questions about programs, schedules, leagues, etc. Create and distribute program brochures.
Work closely with coaches and parent volunteers to help ensure sports programs are running properly, on-time and without altercations. Ensure coaches, parents and players adhere to the codes of conduct governing all sporting events.
Provides minor janitorial service to recreation facilities as needed in order to provide clean and serviceable facilities.
Assist with distribution and collection of sports uniforms, equipment, pictures, etc.
Will work 40 hours per week – schedule will vary depending on recreational activities. Work will be weekdays 12 pm – 9 pm with occasional hours on Saturdays and Sundays. (If working Saturday or Sunday time off will be given during the prior work week).
Punctuality and attendance are essential.
Performs other related duties as required.
Plant, cultivate and maintain landscaped grounds at county parks including flower gardens, shrubbery beds, nature trails, and wooded areas; plant and cultivate seeds, set plants, seedlings, and cuttings; plants and maintains flower beds and gardens; removes dead, diseased and damaged trees and limbs as required.
Prune plants, trees and shrubbery; plants and maintains lawns and other grassed areas.
Irrigate plants and grasses and their surrounding beds as necessary.
Performs basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry construction and maintenance tasks on park facilities; assist in construction and development of park grounds and facilities.
Paint signs and park buildings and facilities, line softball, baseball, soccer and football fields according to league regulations; cleans park buildings and facilities.
Repair playground equipment, transport tables and chairs, set up for events, erect and repair chain link fences and other park fixtures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; Experience in Recreation Planning, Leisure Activities Organization, Park Management, or a related field preferred. Knowledge of the philosophy of recreation and the different activities which make up the community recreation program. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License.

Position Description
As an Equipment Operations - Specialist for U.S. Soccer, this position is responsible managing various aspects of team equipment operations as it relates to U.S Soccer’s Youth National Teams (16), Extended National Teams (9), and key Sporting and Commercial departments based in Atlanta. The position demands a high level of familiarity with the sport of soccer, the products and equipment necessary for facilitating training and competition, both on and off the field. This position reports to and works closely with the Equipment Operations Management Team to meet departmental goals.
As a member of the Equipment Operations department, this position travels on YNT and ENT trips as required and is an integral part of the YNT and ENT support staff. A high degree of professionalism is required, as is the ability to independently create quick, effective solutions for issues that arise. The position is heavily focused on ensuring the players and coaching staff can rely on having team equipment needs secured for all training, matches, etc. on and off the field. Additionally, this role collaborates closely with YNT Administrators to ensure the success of all on and off the field requirements.

Blank US Soccer National Training Center; a premier training facility located outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
